As the founding editor of lifehacker.com-a site dedicated to helping readers living more organized, more productive, and Yes, lives geekier-Gina Trapani knows a thing or two about gadgets. I was pleased to see a Kindle in your items appear must have in your laptop bag.
Lifehacker ran a series with laptop bags of its editors and writers, showing readers exactly what they carry around and why last year.Gina's usual geek needs – backup hard disk, Android phone and analog "notebook" (what geeks call good ol' paper and pen) – but also had the first-generation Kindle. Gina says:
Packaging more than a book or magazine takes the upholstered backaches and a bag that won't fit under the seat of the plane in front of me, but I can take dozens of books and journals on my Kindle. While it sucks that you have to wait until you're in a cruise altitude to start reading, I've been reading more books than since I got the first version of the eBook reader from Amazon.

The Kindle is a staple in my own laptop bag and even my purse when I leave home on weekends. you never know when you'll get stuck in a long line at the store container or need something other than a three month old people magazine while waiting for a haircut.
